The name Luna comes from the moon—a natural element that has long been a symbol of connection, cycles, creativity, and feminine energy. When our work first began as a Latine artist collective, the name held a special meaning for us and became closely connected to the community we were building.Our connection to the natural world continues to be important to our work today. We’re drawn to natural imagery, materials, landscapes, and the ways art can help people feel more connected to the places and communities they call home. The moon is a reminder that we are all part of something larger, always changing and evolving.And a special shoutout to Gabi, Luna’s original co-founder, who helped give the name its meaning in the first place. We will always be grateful for the friendship, creativity, and community we built together. We still love and miss working with her on the daily, and she will always be a friend and favorite of Luna, wherever this work takes us in the future.Today, Luna Creative Collaborations has grown beyond its beginnings as a collective. We are a Latina-owned creative consulting and project management company that collaborates exclusively with artists of color, organizations, and communities to bring meaningful creative projects to life.We kept the name Luna because it is part of our story, but also because its connection to nature, creativity, connection, and transformation still reflects how we approach our work today.

Luna works on projects that bring artists, communities, and organizations together. Our work includes public art and murals, exhibitions, artist matchmaking, community engagement, workshops, creative project management, and other collaborative projects that use art and creativity to connect people and place.Every project is different, and we’re often brought in to help shape an idea as much as execute it. If you have a creative project in mind but aren’t sure exactly what kind of support you need, we’re happy to talk it through with you.

Luna works with organizations, businesses, cultural institutions, municipalities, developers, community organizations, and other partners looking to bring artists and communities into their projects in meaningful ways.We’re especially interested in collaborations where creative work can help build connection, tell a story, activate a space, or create opportunities for artists of color. We work with partners at many different stages—from a fully developed project that needs a project manager to an early idea that needs help taking shape.

Every project is different, so our fees depend on the scope, timeline, services needed, and overall project budget. We can provide project management, community engagement, artist matchmaking, and other services individually or as part of a larger collaboration.We believe creative projects should be thoughtfully scoped from the beginning, so we’ll talk with you about your goals, needs, and budget before developing an approach and proposal that makes sense for your project.Not sure what your budget should be? Absolutely. Artist matchmaking is part of what we do. We work exclusively with artists of color and can help identify an artist whose creative practice, experience, and perspective are a strong fit for your project.Tell us a little about what you’re envisioning—including the type of artwork or creative practice you’re looking for, your timeline, location, and budget—and we can help identify potential artists and facilitate an introduction.Need more than an introduction? Luna can also stay involved throughout the project, supporting communication, project management, community engagement, and the artist’s process from concept through completion. Fees for artist matchmaking and project support are based on the scope and budget of the project.

Not at the moment. Luna Creative Collaborations is a project-based creative consulting and project management company, so we don’t currently operate a permanent studio, storefront, or gallery.That said, we love creating spaces for art and community when a project calls for it. Our work has included exhibitions, workshops, and public art projects in locations throughout Milwaukee and beyond.Luna previously operated a temporary storefront and gallery on S. César E. Chávez Drive through Milwaukee’s Pop-Up MKE program in 2019. That experience remains an important part of our history—and we’d never rule out creating another physical space in the future!
