Co-founder Katie Avila Loughmiller was a Labor Artist in Residence at Santa Fe Art Institute. SFAI is an independent arts organization forging critical inquiry and cultural exchange among artists, creative practitioners, and the broader community located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. As a part of her residency, Katie was invited to present her work and be a part of a panel discussion alongside fellow artist residents, Stephanie Syjuco and Abigail Lucien during the Labor Residency Launch and Open Studios event. Katie was also a recipient of the Mary L. Nohl Suitcase Export Fund which enabled her to curate a small digital print exhibition at this same event. Katie chose selected works from all the different group exhibitions LUNA had throughout 2019 to showcase the diversity of talent that makes up LUNA.
